Śreyas-nirdeśa (Discerning the Superior Good): Nārada–Gālava Saṃvāda

नास्ति विद्यासमं चक्षुर्नास्ति विद्यासमं फलम्‌

nāsti vidyāsamaṃ cakṣur nāsti vidyāsamaṃ phalam

Bhīṣma bersabda: “Tiada penglihatan yang setara dengan ilmu, dan tiada ganjaran yang setara dengan ilmu.” Dalam ajaran etika Śānti Parva, hal ini menegaskan bahawa pembelajaran ialah ‘mata batin’ yang paling jernih untuk menilai dharma, serta buah tertinggi dan paling berkekalan daripada usaha manusia.
