अहिंसा-प्रधान धर्मविचारः

अधर्मो नास्ति ते मृत्यो संयच्छेमा: प्रजा: शुभे | मया हाक्त मृषा भद्रे भविता नेह किंचन

adharmo nāsti te mṛtyo saṁyacchemāḥ prajāḥ śubhe | mayā hy uktaṁ mṛṣā bhadre bhavitā neha kiṁcana ||

Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai Maut, tiada adharma akan menimpa dirimu. Wahai yang membawa tuah, tahanlah (kekanglah) makhluk-makhluk ini. Wahai yang lemah lembut, tiada satu pun kata-kataku di sini akan sekali-kali menjadi dusta.”
