Educational Q&A

Worldly power and sensory enjoyments lose their appeal when the mind is overwhelmed by moral anguish and grief; inner healing and dharma-based counsel become necessary before rulership can be meaningful.

In the Śānti Parva, after the devastation of the Kurukṣetra war, Yudhiṣṭhira speaks to a sage, confessing that kingship and pleasures cannot console him; his sorrow and remorse dominate his mind.
