स हि सर्वेषु भूतेषु जड़मेषु ध्रुवेषु च । वसत्येको महानात्मा येन सर्वमिदं ततम्‌

sa hi sarveṣu bhūteṣu jaḍameṣu dhruveṣu ca | vasaty eko mahānātmā yena sarvam idaṃ tatam ||

Kerana dalam semua makhluk—sama ada yang inert mahupun yang teguh—bersemayam satu Ātman Agung; dan oleh Yang Satu itulah seluruh alam semesta ini meresap dan meliputi segalanya. Maka Vyāsa menunjukkan dasar etika bagi laku yang benar: melihat Diri yang sama bersemayam di mana-mana meleraikan permusuhan dan menyokong belas kasihan, pengendalian diri, serta keseimbangan batin.
