अध्याय २२० — बलिवासवसंवादः
Bali–Vāsava Dialogue on Kāla and Steadfastness
प्राप्प लोके च सत्कारं स्वर्ग वै प्रेत्य गच्छति । जितेन्द्रिय पुरुष किसीके साथ वैर नहीं करता। उसका सबके साथ अच्छा बर्ताव होता है। वह निन्दा और स्तुतिमें समान भाव रखनेवाला
prāpya loke ca satkāraṃ svargaṃ vai pretya gacchati |
Bhīṣma berkata: Orang yang menguasai diri, tidak memendam permusuhan terhadap sesiapa pun dan berbuat baik kepada semua, tetap seimbang ketika dicela atau dipuji, hidup menurut dharma, bersopan santun dan berdisiplin, ceria, teguh, serta mampu mengekang kecacatan dirinya. Orang demikian memperoleh kehormatan di dunia ini dan, setelah mati, mencapai syurga.
