Manifest–Unmanifest Discrimination and the Supreme Path of Withdrawal
न्यायतन्त्राण्यनेकानि तैस्तैरुक्तानि वादिभि: । हेत्वागमसदाचारैर्यदुक्ते तदुपास्यताम्,तर्कशील दिद्वानोंने तर्कशास्त्रके अनेक ग्रन्थोंका प्रणणयन किया। उन महर्षियोंने युक्तियुक्त शास्त्र और सदाचारके द्वारा जिस ब्रह्मका उपदेश किया है, उसीकी तुम भी उपासना करो
nyāya-tantrāṇy anekāni tais tair uktāni vādibhiḥ | hetv-āgama-sadācārair yad ukte tad upāsyatām ||
Bhīṣma berkata: “Banyak sistem penalaran dan perdebatan telah dikemukakan oleh para pendebat. Namun Hakikat yang diajarkan para resi melalui hujah yang benar, tradisi berwibawa (āgama), dan tata susila yang lurus—itulah sahaja yang patut disembah dan dipegang.”
भीष्म उवाच
Bhishma advises that although many logical systems and debated doctrines exist, one should adhere to and worship that highest Reality/teaching which is supported by three validators: sound reasoning (hetu), authoritative tradition (āgama), and righteous conduct (sadācāra).
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, Bhishma continues counseling Yudhishthira, cautioning him not to be lost in competing argumentative schools, and directing him toward a practice-oriented, ethically grounded pursuit of the highest truth.
