Adhyāya 180: Jīva, Śarīra, and the Fire Analogy (भृगु–भरद्वाज संवादः)

नानुतिष्ठसि धर्मार्थी न कामे चापि वर्तसे । इन्द्रियार्थाननादृत्य मुक्तश्चरसि साक्षिवत्‌,धर्म और अर्थ-सम्बन्धी कार्योंका आप अनुष्ठान नहीं करते हैं, काममें भी आपकी प्रवृत्ति नहीं है। आप इन्द्रियोंके सम्पूर्ण विषयोंकी उपेक्षा करके साक्षीके समान मुक्तरूपसे विचरते हैं

nānutiṣṭhasi dharmārthī na kāme cāpi vartase | indriyārthān anādṛtya muktaś carasi sākṣivat ||

Prahlāda berkata: “Engkau tidak melaksanakan perbuatan yang bertujuan dharma dan artha, dan engkau juga tidak menempuh pencarian kenikmatan. Dengan mengabaikan segala objek pancaindera, engkau berjalan bebas sebagai yang terbebas—laksana seorang saksi semata.”
