Śānti-parva 168: Śoka-nivṛtti-buddhi (The Cognition that Reduces Grief) and Piṅgalā’s Nairāśya
This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it signals that the preceding teaching belongs to the Āpaddharma section of the Śānti Parvan, framing the ethical focus as dharma adapted to crisis and constraint.
The narrator’s formal closing formula marks the end of a chapter/discourse titled “Ṣaḍja-gītā,” identifying its placement within the Mahābhārata’s Śānti Parvan and the Āpaddharma subdivision.
