विदितं भवतो वीर्य माहात्म्यं वेद आगमे । कुरुष्वेह यथाशान्ति ब्रह्मा शरणमस्तु ते,तुम्हें ब्राह्मणोंकी शक्तिका ज्ञान है। वेदों और शास्त्रोंमें जो उनकी महिमा उपलब्ध होती है, उसका भी पता है; अतः तुम शान्तिपूर्वक ऐसा प्रयत्न करो, जिससे ब्राह्मणजाति तुम्हें शरण दे सके

viditaṁ bhavato vīryaṁ māhātmyaṁ veda āgame | kuruṣveha yathāśānti brahmā śaraṇam astu te ||

Śaunaka berkata: “Keperkasaanmu telah diketahui umum, dan engkau juga memahami—melalui Veda dan tradisi suci—kebesaran yang dinisbahkan kepada kaum Brāhmaṇa. Maka bertindaklah di sini dengan tenang dan mencari damai, agar komuniti Brāhmaṇa dapat memberikanmu perlindungan; semoga Brahmā menjadi tempat naunganmu.”
