आपद्धर्मनिर्णयः — विश्वामित्र-श्वपचसंवादः

नच वक्चित्‌ कृते कार्य कर्तारें समवेक्षते

na ca vakcit kṛte kārya kartāraṃ samavekṣate

Bhishma berkata: “Dan setelah sesuatu perbuatan telah dilakukan, janganlah seseorang menoleh mencari siapa yang harus dianggap sebagai pelaku (untuk dipuji atau dipersalahkan).” Dalam kerangka etika Śānti Parva, maksudnya ialah mengekang minda daripada terpaku selepas kejadian pada soal agensi—terutama dorongan untuk mengagih pujian atau menyalahkan—agar pertimbangan tetap selaras dengan dharma, bukan emosi reaktif.
