Gratitude, Discernment, and the Escalation of Power (Śvā–Dvipī–Vyāghra–Nāga–Siṃha–Śarabha Itihāsa)
तथा कुरु महाबाहो सर्वज्ञस्त्वं न संशय: । 'भगवन्! यह चीता कुत्तोंका शत्रु है और मुझे मार डालना चाहता है। महामुने! महाबाहो! आप ऐसा करें
tathā kuru mahābāho sarvajñas tvaṃ na saṃśayaḥ |
Bhishma berkata: “Maka bertindaklah demikian, wahai yang berlengan perkasa. Engkau maha mengetahui—tiada syak padanya.” Dalam konteksnya, ini ialah rayuan agar diberi perlindungan dengan belas ihsan: si pemohon bersandar pada kebijaksanaan serba tahu seorang resi, memohon jalan yang menghapuskan ketakutan daripada pemangsa yang mengancam, serta menjadikan permintaan itu sebagai ujian kebajikan dan tindakan yang benar terhadap yang lemah.
