कालज्ञ: समयज्ञश्न सदा वश्यश्न नोद्धत: | अनुलोमस्तथास्तब्धस्तेन नाभ्येति वेतस:,बेंत समयको पहचानता है, उसके अनुसार बर्ताव करना जानता है, सदा हमारे वशमें रहता है, कभी उद्दण्डता नहीं दिखाता और अनुकूल बना रहता है। उसमें कभी अकड़ नहीं आती; इसीलिये उसे स्थान छोड़कर यहाँ नहीं आना पड़ता है
kālajñaḥ samayajñaś ca sadā vaśyaś ca noddhataḥ | anulomas tathāstabdhas tena nābhyeti vetasaḥ ||
Sāgara berkata: “Vetaśa mengetahui waktu dan kesempatan yang wajar; ia bertindak menurutnya. Ia sentiasa menurut, tidak pernah angkuh atau liar. Ia kekal serasi dan tidak menjadi kaku kerana bangga diri. Maka ia tidak dipaksa meninggalkan tempatnya dan datang ke sini.”
