Durgātitaraṇa—Conduct for Crossing Difficulties (दुर्गातितरणम्)

जो लोग प्राण जानेका अवसर उपस्थित होनेपर भी सत्य बोलना नहीं छोड़ते, वे सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंके विश्वासपात्र बने रहकर सभी दु:खोंसे पार हो जाते हैं ।। कर्माण्यकुहकार्थानि येषां वाचश्व सूनृता: । येषामर्थाश्व सम्बद्धा दुर्गाण्यतितरन्ति ते

karmāṇy akuhakārthāni yeṣāṃ vācaś ca sūnṛtāḥ | yeṣām arthāś ca sambaddhā durgāṇy atitaranti te ||

Bhīṣma berkata: Mereka yang tidak meninggalkan kebenaran walaupun saat nyawa terancam; yang perbuatannya bebas daripada tipu daya, tutur katanya lembut lagi benar, dan kata-katanya seiring dengan niat yang sebenar—mereka menjadi insan yang dipercayai oleh segala makhluk, lalu menyeberangi bahkan laluan penderitaan dan bahaya yang paling sukar.
