Moral blame should be traced to its true cause: when one’s own serious flaw drives events, it is unjust to shift responsibility onto others. The verse stresses accountability and the ethical duty to recognize one’s own defects before accusing others.
Vāyudeva rebukes an interlocutor who is accusing others of wrongdoing. He asserts that the alleged ‘improper acts’ are actually consequences of the accuser’s own major fault, turning the charge back onto the one who is blaming others.
