Commencement of the Mace-Duel Proceedings
बभूव श्रीमती राजन् शाण्डिल्यस्य महात्मन: । सुता धृतव्रता साध्वी नियता ब्रह्मचारिणी,“राजन! नियमपूर्वक व्रतधारण और ब्रह्मचर्यपालन करनेवाली वह तेजस्विनी साध्वी महात्मा शाण्डिल्यकी सुपुत्री थी
babhūva śrīmatī rājan śāṇḍilyasya mahātmanaḥ | sutā dhṛtavratā sādhvī niyatā brahmacāriṇī ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai Raja, dia seorang gadis yang berseri lagi mulia—puteri kepada Śāṇḍilya yang berhati besar—teguh pada nazarnya, suci akhlaknya, teratur dalam pengendalian diri, serta setia memelihara brahmacarya.”
