एवमेतद्‌ यदुश्रेष्ठ कृष्टं राजर्षिणा पुरा । शक्रेण चाभ्यनुज्ञातं ब्रह्माद्यैश्व सुरैस्तथा,यदुश्रेष्ठ! इस प्रकार प्राचीनकालमें राजर्षि कुरुने इस क्षेत्रको जोता और इन्द्र तथा ब्रह्मा आदि देवताओंने इसे वर देकर अनुगृहीत किया

evam etad yaduśreṣṭha kṛṣṭaṃ rājarṣiṇā purā | śakreṇa cābhyanujñātaṃ brahmādyaiś ca surais tathā ||

“Benarlah demikian, wahai yang terbaik di antara kaum Yadu. Pada zaman purba, tanah ini telah dibajak dan dibuka oleh resi-raja Kuru; dan ia telah disahkan serta diberkati oleh Śakra (Indra), demikian juga oleh Brahmā dan para dewa yang lain. Maka kesuciannya berdiri atas usaha manusia yang benar, yang diteguhkan oleh perkenan ilahi.”
