Balarāma’s Pilgrimage Context
एतदिच्छाम्यहं श्रोतुं परं कौतूहलं हि मे । इसके बाद धैर्यवान् असितने उन लोकोंमें रहनेवाले ब्रह्मययाजी सिद्धों और साधु पुरुषोंसे हाथ जोड़कर विनीतभावसे पूछा--“महात्माओ! मैं महातेजस्वी जैगीषव्यको अब देख नहीं रहा हूँ। आप उनका पता बतावें। मैं उनके विषयमें सुनना चाहता हूँ। इसके लिये मेरे मनमें बड़ी उत्कण्ठा है”

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Aku ingin mendengar hal ini, kerana rasa ingin tahuku amat mendalam.” Lalu Asita yang tabah, dengan tangan dirapatkan, bertanya dengan penuh hormat kepada para Siddha yang mempersembahkan korban kepada Brahman serta para sadhu yang tinggal di alam-alam itu: “Wahai jiwa-jiwa agung! Kini aku tidak lagi melihat Jaigīṣavya yang bercahaya perkasa. Tolong beritahu di mana beliau berada. Aku rindu mendengar tentangnya; hatiku dipenuhi kerinduan yang menyala.”
