इस प्रकार महाबली शक्तिशाली वीर कार्तिकेयने समरांगणमें अनेक आततायी देवद्रोहियोंका संहार कर डाला ।।

Transliteration

bāṇo nāmātha daiteyo baleḥ putro mahābalaḥ | krauñca-parvatam āśritya deva-saṅghān abādhata ||

Translation

Vaiśaṃpāyana berkata: Ada seorang Daitya bernama Bāṇa, putera Bali yang amat perkasa. Dengan berlindung di Gunung Krauñca, dia terus-menerus mengganggu bala tentera para dewa—seorang penceroboh yang menjadi teladan; kekuatannya, apabila dipalingkan melawan tertib ketuhanan, menjadi sebab bagi tindak balas yang benar dalam peperangan.
