अपि मामिति सर्वेषां तेषामासीन्मनोगतम् । उन्हें आते देख एक ही समय भगवान् शंकर, गिरिराजनन्दिनी उमा, गंगा और अग्निदेवके मनमें यह संकल्प उठा कि देखें यह बालक पिता-माताका गौरव प्रदान करनेके लिये पहले किसके पास जाता है? क्या यह मेरे पास आयेगा? यह प्रश्न उन सबके मनमें उठा ।। तेषामेतमभिप्रायं चतुर्णामुपलक्ष्य सः
api mām iti sarveṣāṁ teṣām āsīn manogataṁ | teṣām etam abhiprāyaṁ caturṇām upalakṣya saḥ ||
Kesemua mereka menyimpan fikiran yang sama di hati: “Adakah dia akan datang kepadaku?” Menyedari hasrat bersama keempat-empatnya, dia memahami pertanyaan yang tidak terucap—siapakah yang akan dihampiri budak itu terlebih dahulu, demi memuliakan ibu bapanya serta menzahirkan bhakti dan kebijaksanaannya.
