The verse highlights that disciplined spiritual life (tapas) need not be grim; when aligned with dharma, refined arts like music and dance can elevate the mind, sustain harmony, and support a sacred atmosphere rather than distract from inner discipline.
The narrator describes a setting where Gandharvas, including Viśvāvasu, are engaged in austerities and simultaneously keep arranging beautiful performances—dance, instrumental music, and singing—suggesting a celestial or sanctified environment marked by both tapas and aesthetic delight.
