Yudhiṣṭhira berkata: “Syukurlah, wahai yang berlengan perkasa, tekadmu tertumpu sepenuhnya pada peperangan. Syukurlah engkau seorang wira, wahai Kaurava; syukurlah engkau memahami hakikat pertempuran.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse affirms the warrior ethic (kṣatriya-dharma): clarity of resolve, bravery, and informed engagement in battle are praised as auspicious qualities, especially when war is unavoidable and must be conducted with steadiness and understanding.
In the Shalya Parva context, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a Kaurava warrior, commending him for having his mind firmly set on fighting, for being courageous, and for knowing how to conduct himself in combat—an acknowledgment of martial readiness amid the ongoing war.
