अध्याय ३: कृपस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana
सूतपुत्रे हते राजन पुत्रास्ते प्राद्रवंस्तत: । विध्वस्तकवचा: सर्वे कांदिशीका विचेतस:,राजन! सूतपुत्र कर्णके मारे जानेपर आपके सब पुत्र अचेत हो वहाँसे भागने लगे। उन सबके कवच नष्ट हो गये थे। उन्हें इतनी भी सुध नहीं रह गयी थी कि हम कहाँ और किस दिशामें जायेँ
sūtaputre hate rājan putrās te prādravuṃs tataḥ | vidhvastakavacāḥ sarve kāṃdiśīkā vicetasaḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Wahai Raja, apabila Karṇa, putera sais kereta, telah terbunuh, putera-putera tuanku serta-merta melarikan diri dari tempat itu. Perisai dan baju zirah mereka semuanya hancur; bingung dan hilang pertimbangan, mereka berlari lintang-pukang seperti orang yang kehilangan arah.”
