Transliteration

cacāla śabdaṃ kurvāṇā saparvatavanā mahī | sadaṇḍāḥ solmukā rājan kīryamāṇāḥ samantataḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya berkata: Wahai Raja, ketika belantan dan kayu api yang menyala dilemparkan ke segala arah, bumi—bersama gunung-ganang dan rimba—seakan-akan bergegar, bergema dengan hiruk-pikuk yang besar.
