तत आसीतू परामर्दस्तुमुल: शोणितोदक: । शूराणां युध्यमानानां सिंहानामिव नर्दताम्,फिर तो वहाँ घोर संग्राम छिड़ गया। सिंहोंके समान गर्जते और जूझते हुए शूरवीरोंका खून पानीकी तरह बहाया जाने लगा
tata āsīt paramardaḥ tumulaḥ śoṇitodakaḥ | śūrāṇāṁ yudhyamānānāṁ siṁhānām iva nardatām ||
Sañjaya berkata: Lalu meletuslah pertempuran yang menghancurkan dan menggemuruh, bagaikan banjir darah. Para wira bertempur sambil mengaum seperti singa, dan darah pun mengalir seolah-olah air.
