The verse underscores faith in satya (truth) and the moral authority of a righteous sage’s word: even amid the devastation of war, dharma is preserved through the continuity of a rightful lineage, embodied here in Parīkṣit.
In the aftermath of the night massacre (Sauptika), Vaiśampāyana affirms that a Brahmin’s prediction will come true: Uttarā’s son Parīkṣit will be born and will re-establish the Pāṇḍava line, ensuring its survival and future order.
