अश्वत्थाम-शापः, परिक्षिद्भविष्यत्, मणि-न्यासः

Aśvatthāman’s Curse, Parikṣit’s Future, and the Mani’s Restitution

उत्तस्थौ पुत्रशोकार्ता ततः कृष्णा मनस्विनी । कृष्णं चापि महाबाहु: परिपप्रच्छ धर्मराट्‌,तब पुत्रशोकसे पीड़ित हुई मनस्विनी कृष्णा अनशन छोड़कर उठ गयी और महाबाहु धर्मराजने भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णसे एक बात पूछी

uttasthau putraśokārtā tataḥ kṛṣṇā manasvinī | kṛṣṇaṃ cāpi mahābāhuḥ paripapraccha dharmarāṭ ||

Kemudian Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī), teguh hatinya namun dirundung dukacita atas kematian putera-putera, bangkit dan menghentikan puasanya. Lalu Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira) yang berlengan perkasa pun menyoal Kṛṣṇa, memohon pedoman.
