वार्ष्णेयान्‌ हारहूणांश्व कृष्णान्‌ हैमवर्तास्तथा । नीपानूपानधिगतान्‌ विविधान्‌ द्वारवारितान्‌,चीन, शक, ओड्, वनवासी बर्बर, वार्ष्णेय, हार, हूण, कृष्ण, हिमालयप्रदेश, नीप और अनूप देशोंके नाना रूपधारी राजा वहाँ भेंट देनेके लिये आये थे, किंतु रोक दिये जानेके कारण दरवाजेपर ही खड़े थे। उन्होंने अनेक रूपवाले दस हजार गधे भेंटके लिये वहाँ प्रस्तुत किये थे, जिनकी गर्दन काली और शरीर विशाल थे, जो सौ कोसतक लगातार चल सकते थे। वे सभी सिखलाये हुए तथा सब दिशाओंमें विख्यात थे

vārṣṇeyān hārahūṇāṁś ca kṛṣṇān haimavartās tathā | nīpānūpān adhigatān vividhān dvāravāritān ||

Duryodhana berkata: “Ada kaum Vārṣṇeya, Hāra dan Hūṇa, kaum Kṛṣṇa, dan juga mereka dari wilayah Himalaya; demikian pula orang dari negeri Nīpa dan Anūpa—bermacam-macam bangsa—yang telah sampai ke pintu gerbang tetapi ditahan, lalu berdiri di ambang pintu.”
