Rājasūyābhiṣeka-darśana: Duryodhana’s Observation of the Consecration
Envy (īrṣyā) at another’s legitimate prosperity destroys inner peace; a mind that ‘burns’ with resentment becomes prone to adharma and harmful action.
In the royal assembly context, Duryodhana observes the exceptional prosperity and honor surrounding the Pāṇḍavas (especially Yudhiṣṭhira) and confesses that the sight makes him restless and inwardly scorched—foreshadowing his hostile plans.
