मायासभायां दुर्योधनस्य अवमान-प्रसङ्गः

Duryodhana’s Humiliation in the Hall of Māyā

* 53 है ०५ >> 5555 वैकृतं तस्य तौ दृष्टवा त्यागायाकुरुतां मतिम्‌,इससे इसके माता-पिता अन्य भाई-बन्धुओंसहित भयसे थर्रा उठे। इसकी वह विकराल आकृति देख उन्होंने इसे त्याग देनेका निश्चय किया

vaikṛtaṃ tasya tau dṛṣṭvā tyāgāyākurutāṃ matim | asya mātā-pitarau anyabhrātṛ-bandhubhiḥ saha bhayāt tharatharāyām āsa | tasya vikārālaṃ rūpaṃ dṛṣṭvā tau enaṃ tyaktum niścayaṃ cakratuḥ ||

Melihat bentuk anak itu yang ganjil dan menakutkan, ibu bapanya—bersama saudara-saudaranya dan kaum kerabat—menggigil ketakutan. Berhadapan dengan rupa yang menggerunkan itu, mereka pun bertekad untuk meninggalkannya.
