Bhīmasena’s Digvijaya and Tribute Return

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores how collective power—expressed through armies, elephants, and chariots—creates overwhelming impact. Ethically, it hints that such force and grandeur must be restrained and directed by dharma; otherwise, the same power that inspires awe can become destructive.

A large royal or martial movement is being described: drums beat, chariot wheels rumble, elephants trumpet, and the procession advances with such intensity that it seems to shake the earth.
