गण्डकीं च महाशोणं सदानीरां तथैव च । एकपर्वतके नद्यः क्रमेणैत्याव्रजन्त ते,वे तीनों कुरुदेशसे प्रस्थित हो कुरुजांगलके बीचसे होते हुए रमणीय पद्मसरोवरपर पहुँचे। फिर कालकूट पर्वतको लाँधचकर गण्डकी, महाशोण, सदानीरा एवं एकपर्वतक प्रदेशकी सब नदियोंको क्रमश: पार करते हुए आगे बढ़ते गये

gaṇḍakīṃ ca mahāśoṇaṃ sadānīrāṃ tathaiva ca | ekaparvatake nadyaḥ krameṇaitvā vrajanta te ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana berkata: Mereka meneruskan perjalanan menurut tertibnya, menyeberangi Gaṇḍakī, sungai Śoṇa yang besar, dan juga Sadanīrā, serta sungai-sungai di wilayah Ekaparvata—maju setapak demi setapak ketika perjalanan mereka berlanjutan.
