स धर्म्य पाण्डवस्तेषां वच: श्रुत्वा विशाम्पते | धृष्टमिष्टं वरिष्ठ च जग्राह मनसारिहा,प्रजानाथ! शत्रुसूदन पाण्डुनन्दन युधिष्ठिरने उनका यह साहसपूर्ण, प्रिय एवं श्रेष्ठ वचन सुनकर उसे मन-ही-मन ग्रहण किया
sa dharmyaḥ pāṇḍavas teṣāṃ vacaḥ śrutvā viśāṃpate | dhṛṣṭam iṣṭaṃ variṣṭhaṃ ca jagrāha manasārihā ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Wahai tuan kepada rakyat, Pāṇḍava yang berpegang pada dharma itu—Yudhiṣṭhira, penunduk musuh—setelah mendengar kata-kata mereka, menerima dalam hatinya nasihat yang berani itu, yang disukainya dan pada pertimbangannya merupakan yang terbaik.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler grounded in dharma should receive counsel by judging its righteousness and excellence, not merely its immediate utility; inner assent (manasā jagrāha) reflects thoughtful ethical acceptance rather than impulsive action.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira, after hearing the words spoken by others, inwardly accepts their bold yet pleasing and best counsel—signaling a turning point of agreement before any outward step is taken.
