The Commencement of the Great Departure
गमनाय मतिं चक्रे भ्रातरश्षास्य ते तदा | उन धर्मात्मा नरेशने नगर और जनपदके लोगोंको समझा-बुझाकर उनकी अनुमति प्राप्त कर ली। फिर उन्होंने और उनके भाइयोंने सब कुछ त्यागकर महा-प्रस्थान करनेका ही निश्चय किया
gamanāya matiṁ cakre bhrātaraś cāsya te tadā |
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Pada ketika itu, saudara-saudara itu menetapkan tekad untuk berangkat. Setelah menasihati warga kota dan rakyat negeri hingga memperoleh persetujuan mereka, raja yang berjiwa dharma bersama saudara-saudaranya meninggalkan segala-galanya dan dengan teguh memilih jalan Mahāprasthāna—Keberangkatan Agung.
