अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः
रथभडज़ो न चेत् तस्य धरनुर्वा न व्यशीर्यत
rathabhaḍazo na cet tasya dharanurvā na vyaśīryata
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Jika tidak demikian, busurnya tidak akan terlepas dari genggaman, dan tidak pula akan hancur—menandakan bahawa tekanan luar biasa pertempuran dan desakan takdir sedang bekerja, bukan kerana lemah atau kurang tekad.
