The verse highlights disciplined resistance to destructive force: in the chaos of war, a righteous warrior counters an indiscriminate barrage with focused skill, symbolically restoring clarity—like sunlight removing darkness.
Sañjaya describes a moment in battle where a widespread ‘rain of weapons’ fills the sky; the Pāṇḍava answers by shooting arrows that scatter and neutralize that barrage, compared to the sun’s rays dispelling darkness.
