संजय कहते हैं--महाराज! उस महासमरमें शत्रुवीरोंका संहार करनेवाले अर्जुनने क्रोधमें भरे हुए सूतपुत्रको देखकर कौरवोंकी चतुरंगिणी सेनाका विनाश करके वहाँ रक्तकी नदी बहा दी। जिसमें जलके स्थानमें इस पृथ्वीपर रक्त ही बह रहा था; मांस-मज्जा और हड्डियाँ कीचड़का काम दे रही थीं। मनुष्योंके कटे हुए मस्तक पत्थरोंके टुकड़ोंके समान जान पड़ते थे
arjuna uvāca | eṣa ketū raṇe kṛṣṇa sūtaputrasya dṛśyate | bhīmasenādayaś caite yodhayanti mahāratham ||
Arjuna berkata: “Wahai Kṛṣṇa, di medan perang ini panji Karṇa, putera sais kereta, kelihatan dengan jelas. Dan di sini Bhīmasena serta para wira yang lain sedang bertempur dengan maharathi itu.”
