Shloka 50

अहं हत्वा रणे कर्ण पुत्रं चास्य महारथम्‌

ahaṁ hatvā raṇe karṇa putraṁ cāsya mahāratham

Sañjaya berkata: “Aku telah membunuh Karṇa di medan tempur, dan juga puteranya—yang juga seorang maharathi—(aku …).” Baris ini membawa beban moral perang yang suram: bahkan gugurnya wira termasyhur dan pewaris mereka menjadi sekadar laporan, menegaskan bahawa kemenangan dalam konflik dharma tetap menanggung harga kemanusiaan yang tidak dapat dipulihkan.
