ततो द्रोणो हतो युद्धे पार्षवीन धनंजय । “धनंजय! तुमने दुर्योधनकी सारी सेनाको रोक रखा था; इसीलिये धृष्टद्युम्न संग्राममें द्रोणाचार्यका वध कर सके ।। एवं वा को रणे कुर्यात् त्वदन्य: क्षत्रियो युधि
tato droṇo hato yuddhe pārṣvīna dhanañjaya | “dhanañjaya! tumne duryodhanakī sārī senā ko rok rakhā thā; isīliye dhṛṣṭadyumna saṅgrām meṃ droṇācārya kā vadh kar sake || evaṃ vā ko raṇe kuryāt tvadanyaḥ kṣatriyo yudhi”
Sanjaya berkata: Kemudian Droṇa terbunuh dalam peperangan, wahai Dhanañjaya. “Dhanañjaya! Engkau telah menahan seluruh bala tentera Duryodhana; sebab itulah Dhṛṣṭadyumna dapat, di tengah dentang senjata, membunuh Droṇācārya. Siapakah lagi selain engkau yang mampu melakukan perbuatan sebesar itu dalam perang—ksatriya manakah di medan laga dapat menandinginya?”
संजय उवाच

It also frames ethical reflection through praise—Arjuna’s restraint of the enemy host is presented as enabling a pivotal act, showing how individual duty and battlefield choices carry far-reaching consequences.
Sanjaya reports that Droṇa has been slain. He attributes the possibility of Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s killing Droṇa to Arjuna’s feat of holding back Duryodhana’s entire force, and he rhetorically asks who besides Arjuna could have done such a thing in battle.
