कर्णनिधनवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् | Reporting Karṇa’s Fall to Yudhiṣṭhira
विदुरो वा तथा क्षत्ता कुन्ती वापि यशस्विनी । तत् ते वक्ष्यामि तत्त्वेन निबोधैतद् धनंजय,पाण्डुनन्दन! मैं तुम्हें यह धर्मका रहस्य बता रहा हूँ। धनंजय! पितामह भीष्म, पाण्डुपुत्र युधिष्ठिर विदुरजी अथवा यशस्विनी कुन्तीदेवी--ये लोग तुम्हें धर्मके जिस तत्त्वका उपदेश कर सकते हैं, उसीको मैं ठीक-ठीक बता रहा हूँ। इसे ध्यान देकर सुनो
viduro vā tathā kṣattā kuntī vāpi yaśasvinī | tat te vakṣyāmi tattvena nibodha etad dhanaṃjaya pāṇḍunandana ||
Śrī Kṛṣṇa bersabda: “Sama ada Vidura, sang Kṣattā (pengurus istana), atau Kuntī yang termasyhur—apa jua prinsip dharma yang mereka mampu ajarkan kepadamu, akan kuisytiharkan kepadamu sekarang menurut hakikatnya yang sebenar. Perhatikanlah dengan sungguh-sungguh, wahai Dhanañjaya, putera Pāṇḍu.”
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
Kṛṣṇa asserts that he will present the essence of dharma with full accuracy—equal to what the most respected moral authorities (Vidura/Kṣattā and Kuntī) could teach—urging Arjuna to listen with focused attention. The emphasis is on receiving dharma as a precise, principled truth (tattvena), not as mere opinion.
In the Karṇa Parva war setting, Kṛṣṇa addresses Arjuna directly (Dhanañjaya, Pāṇḍunandana), positioning himself as the authoritative guide. He frames the forthcoming instruction as the distilled dharma-teaching that trusted elders and exemplars of righteousness would give, preparing Arjuna for decisive action grounded in ethical clarity.
