पुरुजित्‌ कुन्तिभोजश्न मातुलौ सव्यसाचिन:

purujit kuntibhojaś ca mātulau savyasācinaḥ

Sañjaya berkata: Purujit dan Kuntibhoja—kedua-duanya bapa saudara sebelah ibu kepada Savyasācī Arjuna—turut hadir, seolah-olah menandai ikatan kekeluargaan yang tetap mengikat, walaupun perang memaksa sanak saudara berdiri di tengah kewajipan yang saling bertentangan.

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores how lineage and family obligations remain morally significant even in war: identifying Arjuna’s maternal uncles highlights the tension between blood ties and the demands of kṣatriya-dharma on the battlefield.

Sañjaya is listing notable warriors/figures present in the conflict, specifying that Purujit and Kuntibhoja are Arjuna’s maternal uncles, thereby situating them within the wider network of alliances and family relations in the war.
