Arjuna Checks Droṇaputra; Karṇa Advances
The verse highlights a warrior’s duty and the strategic dimension of battle: courage is expressed not only through skillful action (accurate, forceful arrows) but also through morale and intimidation (a mighty roar) that can unsettle even a renowned opponent.
During the fighting in Karṇa Parva, Nakula wounds Suṣeṇa with twenty strong arrows and then roars loudly; this display of valor and dominance is described as creating fear in Karṇa.
