Adhyāya 41 — Kṛṣṇa’s Battlefield Briefing and the Renewal of the Great Engagement
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of confronting a worthy opponent directly: recognizing exceptional prowess in another and still choosing to meet them in open combat with full resolve. Ethically, it reflects the martial code of courage and honor within the epic’s war context.
Sañjaya reports a warrior’s declaration of intent: he will go forth to meet and fight the conqueror of the earth—an archer considered unmatched—on the battlefield that day, emphasizing determination and the gravity of the impending duel.
