एवं त्वमुच्छिष्ट भूतो धार्तराष्ट्रैन संशय: । सदृशान्‌ श्रेयसश्लापि सर्वान्‌ कर्णावमन्यसे

Transliteration

evaṁ tvam ucchiṣṭa-bhūto dhārtarāṣṭrair na saṁśayaḥ | sadṛśān śreyasaś cāpi sarvān karṇāvamanyase ||

Translation

Tiada syak lagi bahawa engkau dibesarkan dengan sisa-sisa makanan putera-putera Dhṛtarāṣṭra. Dan kerana itulah, wahai Karṇa, kini engkau memandang hina semua orang—yang setara denganmu bahkan yang lebih mulia daripadamu—lalu melupakan apa yang benar-benar terhormat.
