एवं तदभवद् युद्ध त्वदीयानां परै: सह । अपराह्नले महाराज काडृक्षतां विजयं युधि,महाराज! इस प्रकार अपराह्नके समय रणक्षेत्रमें विजय चाहनेवाले आपके योद्धाओंका शत्रुओंके साथ भीषण युद्ध होने लगा

evaṃ tad abhavad yuddhaṃ tvadīyānāṃ paraiḥ saha |
aparāhṇe le mahārāja kāṅkṣatāṃ vijayaṃ yudhi ||
Sañjaya berkata: Demikianlah terjadi, wahai Raja Agung, bahawa pada lewat petang tercetuslah pertempuran yang dahsyat antara para pahlawan tuanku dan musuh-musuh mereka. Orang-orang tuanku, mendambakan kemenangan di medan laga, mara menekan ke dalam gelanggang perang.
