उभयो: सेनयोरवरिव्याकुलं समपद्यत | महाराज! सामने आये हुए अपने और शत्रुपक्षके योद्धाओंको भी अपने ही पक्षके लोग मार डालते थे। दोनों सेनाओंके वीर मर्यादाशून्य युद्धमें प्रवृत्त हो गये थे

Sañjaya berkata: Wahai Raja, kedua-dua bala tentera tenggelam dalam kekacauan yang amat sangat di tengah himpitan musuh. Dalam huru-hara itu, bahkan para pahlawan yang berdiri jelas di hadapan—sama ada dari pihak sendiri atau pihak lawan—dibunuh oleh orang mereka sendiri. Maka para wira dari kedua-dua pihak terjun ke dalam perang tanpa batas, apabila kawalan diri dan sempadan tata susila telah runtuh.
