(इन्द्रविष्णुसमं वीर्ये कोपेडन्तकमिव स्थितम् | बृहस्पतिसमं बुद्ध्या नीतिमन्तं महारथम् ।।
arjuna uvāca | indra-viṣṇu-samaṁ vīrye koped antakam iva sthitam | bṛhaspati-samaṁ buddhyā nīti-mantaṁ mahā-ratham || ākhyeyāsyām yugra-karmāṇaṁ kurūṇām abhayaṅkaram ||
Arjuna berkata: “Wahai Raja, akan kuperkenalkan kepadamu pahlawan dahsyat itu yang menanamkan rasa tidak gentar pada kaum Kuru—yang kekuatannya setara Indra dan Viṣṇu, amarahnya bagaikan Yama, dan akalnya menandingi Bṛhaspati; mahir dalam siasah, seorang maharathi, mampu melakukan perbuatan yang ganas. Dengarlah ketika aku menyebut namanya.”
