ब्रह्मलोकगते द्रोणे धृष्टद्युम्ने च मोहिते । पलक मारते-मारते वह ज्योति आकाशमें जाकर अदृश्य हो गयी। द्रोणाचार्यके ब्रह्मलोक चले जाने और धृष्टद्युम्नके अपमानसे मोहित हो जानेपर हर्षोल्लाससे भरे हुए देवताओंका कोलाहल सुनायी देने लगा
brahmalokagate droṇe dhṛṣṭadyumne ca mohite | palak mārte-mārte vah jyoti ākāśaṁ gatvā adṛśyābhavat | droṇācāryasya brahmalokaṁ cale jāne aura dhṛṣṭadyumnasya apamānasa mohita ho jāne par harṣollāsase bhare hue devatāoṁ kā kolāhalaḥ śrūyate sma |
Sañjaya berkata: Tatkala Droṇa telah berangkat ke Brahmaloka dan Dhṛṣṭadyumna berdiri terpaku, terkeliru serta terpesona oleh kebingungan, sekelip mata sahaja sinar itu naik ke angkasa lalu lenyap daripada pandangan. Dengan Droṇācārya telah pergi ke alam Brahmā dan Dhṛṣṭadyumna ditimpa kekalutan kerana aib perbuatannya, terdengarlah sorak gemuruh para dewa yang meluap gembira—seakan-akan pengesahan kosmik atas pelepasan Droṇa, dan peringatan akan beban dharma yang dipikul oleh si pembunuh.
