न किंचिद् विदुरात्मानमयमस्मीति भारत । भारत! उस रात्रिके समय जब वह भयंकर कोलाहलपूर्ण संग्राम चल रहा था, तब योद्धाओंको कुछ भी पता नहीं चलता था। वे अपने-आपके विषयमें भी यह नहीं जान पाते थेकि “मैं अमुक हूँ
na kiñcid vidur ātmānam ayam asmīti bhārata |
Sañjaya berkata: Wahai Bhārata, pada malam itu, ketika pertempuran yang mengerikan mengaum dalam hiruk-pikuk, para pahlawan tidak dapat mengenal pasti apa-apa dengan jelas. Dalam kekacauan itu, mereka bahkan tidak mengenali diri sendiri—tidak mampu mengetahui, “Akulah orang ini.”
