Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the fragility of human capacity amid warfare: even those supporting a warrior’s role (like a charioteer) can be suddenly incapacitated, showing how violence disrupts order and duty (dharma) on the battlefield.

A charioteer is struck by a chariot-thrown spear (śakti), becomes dazed/unconscious, reaches the chariot-seat, and sits there silently for a short while, unable to perform his function.
