Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 114 — Karṇa–Bhīmasena Missile Exchange, Disarmament, and Arjuna’s Intervention
तानहं प्रमथिष्यामि तृणानीव हुताशन: । तस्मात् सर्वानुपासंगान् सर्वोपकरणानि च
tān ahaṃ pramathiṣyāmi tṛṇānīva hutāśanaḥ | tasmāt sarvānupāsaṅgān sarvopakaraṇāni ca
Sañjaya berkata: “Aku akan menghancurkan mereka seperti rumput kering di hadapan api yang marak. Maka, himpunkanlah segala keterikatan dan segala kelengkapan (untuk bertindak) dan sediakanlah.”
संजय उवाच
The verse uses the simile of fire consuming grass to convey overwhelming force and unwavering resolve in battle; ethically, it reflects the harsh kṣatriya-world of the Kurukṣetra war where determination and preparedness are praised even as violence is normalized.
Sañjaya reports a speaker’s fierce intention to annihilate opponents effortlessly, and the consequent call to ready all necessary means—signaling imminent action and escalation within the Drona Parva battle sequence.
